Reduced Metropass price!
Prior to 2010, the Toronto Transit Commission did not offer a student rate to post-secondary students. In an effort to ease financial strain, your Students' Union lobbied for a reduced Metropass price. In 2005, we secured a Volume Incentive Program (VIP) discount, if not a student discount.
Our lobbying did not stop there. We continued to work with other GTA Students' Unions to convince the TTC that ALL students are regular users of the public transit system and deserve a discounted rate. Finally, in 2010, we were successful!
At regular price, the Adult Metropass costs $121.00! The VIP Metropass price was last set at $107.00. Your new Post-Secondary Metropass price is the same as a high school students': $99.00 per month.

For tens of thousands of commuter students who attend the UofT campuses, public transit is an essential and easy means of traveling in and around Toronto and the surrounding area.
