We Want You
U.T.S.U. Commissions are your chance to get involved with the your Students' Union. If you want to make a difference, if you have concerns about the student experience at UofT, if you want us to organise an event or campaign or if you just want your voice to be heard, become part of a Commission.
Membership is open to all full-time undergraduate students!
Campus Life Commission
U.T.S.U. wants you to get the most out of your university experience. The Campus Life Commission works to enhance the student experience by organising events and campaigns addressing diverse interests and student life issues. This Commission plans events like Homecoming, Halloweek, Unity Through Diversity, Winterfest, eXpression Against Oppression, and trips to various Toronto sporting events.
University Affairs Commission
Want to ensure that your voice is heard on campus? Interested in who makes decisions on campus and how you can be part of that process? At the University Affairs Commission, we address issues of governance, student rights, copyright, and corporatisation of classes. In the past we succeeded in getting Robarts open to all undergraduate students, childcare on campus, and a Student Commons at St. George.
Equity Issues Commission
Want to take action against discrimination? Are you interested in international student issues? Help to plan and implement anti-oppression initiatives! Help us make UofT more accessible! Together we can ensure that equity issues are a priority at our school and in our community.
External Commission
Do you believe that education is a right? Concerned about the soaring rate of poverty in Ontario? Worried about access to basic social rights? Students have convinced the university administration to stop divesting in apartheid South Africa and to adopt a sweat-free policy. We also succeeded in winning a 2-year tuition fee freeze across Ontario. Join the External Commission and Take Action!
Sustainability Commission
Want to make our university’s practices more sustainable? Want to fight against environmental discrimination? Want the government to support more environmental initiatives? Join the Sustainability Commission and help us fight today for a greener tomorrow!
